Mr. Taylor is a fantastic advocate for teachers, students, and parents. I’ve worked for him (and with him) a majority of my teaching career, and I attest much of who I am as an educator to his leadership.

Please spread the word about him running for Catawba County School Board. We need more voices like THIS.  Jeff Taylor.

I have had the privilege to know Jeff for the past 8 years and am continually amazed by his integrity, consistency, and care for students and people in general. His vast knowledge and wisdom aquired through years of service in education and community engagement make him the right candidate at the right time for the students, teachers, and communities in Catawba County. I count it a privilege to have worked along side him in various community Initiatives as we have volunteered to make a change for the better. Jeff is our champion for change!

Jeff Taylor has devoted his life to the students of Catawba County in his tenure as a history and government teacher, conference and state award-winning cross country and track coach, accomplished and respected assistant principal, and principal serving both the Bunker Hill and St. Stephens feeder districts in his career. In retirement, Mr. Taylor has continued teaching and coaching with excellence in the private sector while serving as Dean of Students at University Christian High School.

I am blessed to have known Mr. Taylor as a former student, athlete, and colleague; I have experienced his motivating students, athletes, and teachers alike to achieve their best potentials with excellence and confidence knowing Mr. Taylor supported them.

Mr. Taylor is a hands-on leader who is genuine in his leadership and a public servant who gets involved alongside those he leads. I have no doubt he will lead our public schools well as a school board member and will be a champion for classroom teachers, school administrators, parents, and students.

He loves Catawba County, its schools, and its people as evidenced by the thousands of us he has positively influenced during his career. He truly understands what best practices and policies are necessary to create successful, safe school environments while always keeping the people he serves and the relationships he establishes as his first priority.

Every time my husband and I see Mr. Taylor at a ballgame, track meet, or around town, he always, without fail, speaks to us and asks about our family--almost 30 years after we were his students, and that means so much to know that Coach Taylor still cares about us all these years later.

I am honored to endorse Jeff Taylor for the Catawba County School Board and encourage all who are able to vote for him in the upcoming election.

I first met Jeff Taylor in the fall of 1989 as a freshman student at Bunker Hill High School.  I was in his Homeroom and Jeff was also my Social Studies teacher. There are only two teachers from my four years at Bunker Hill that I remember in great detail the impact they had on me, and Jeff Taylor is one of those. Not only was he a teacher to me, he was also my Coach and motivator for four years of running Cross Country and Track. I greatly enjoyed the in class interactions with “Coach Taylor” and can remember in detail his teaching style and how welcoming he was to having input from the students. High School can be intimidating for a freshman, but in his class we were all equals and he would treat me just like a Senior he’s known for many years.

Athletics was a passion for Jeff Taylor as well, especially Track and Cross Country. I can still remember the Steve Prefontaine running poster that hung in his classroom just to the left of the blackboard. The motivational message on that poster was not just for runners as myself, but for all students to work hard and give it your all.

In more recent years while he was Principal of Bunker Hill High School I was able to work with him in my capacity as a City Councilman and later as Mayor of the City of Claremont. Bunker Hill High School  will always be special to me and I remember how excited I was upon hearing that Jeff Taylor had been named the Principal. Creating partnerships between the school system, municipalities and private industry is crucial for the schools to flourish, and he understood that very well. The Bunker Hill High School feeder district has been positively influenced by Jeff Taylor and we are blessed to have had him as part of the Bunker Hill family for so many years.

Jeff Taylor will serve as a champion for the students of Catawba County and will use his many years as an educator and administrator to enhance the lives of those students.

My friend and former colleague, Jeff Taylor, is running for a seat on the Catawba County Schools Board of Education.  I've known Jeff for 36 years, I've worked with him and for him, and I can tell you that he is exceptionally qualified for this position.

It's rare that exactly the right person runs for exactly the right office at exactly the right time.  I'm so happy to be able to vote for him, and I hope you will too.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff for the first time in 2015 at University Christian High School, where both my sons were attending. I was immediately comforted by his leadership skills as I sat and listened to him have the attention of a room full of young adults and parents alike. It was obvious that night that he had high expectations for our children yet knew how to expect it while showing grace and love.

In the months and years that have followed, I have witnessed his passion for teaching, coaching, and continuing to want the best for my sons and all the students at UCHS. I have also seen his dedication to our athletic programs and watched him handle tough situations in athletic events that could have escalated very quickly, had he not shown the leadership necessary.

While Jeff and I may share some differing political opinions at times, I can count on him to remain civil and respectful to me. Unfortunately, this has not been the norm in this past year for many people. This is the kind of man that we need in leadership positions and involved in making decisions that involve the future of our children. One that will not let politics get in the way of doing what is best and right for our children!

My oldest sister, Vicki Shull, a retired, lifelong English teacher at Bunker Hill High School told me after I first met Jeff that she had worked for a number of different principles during her tenure and that Jeff was as caring a leader as any. I can say without a doubt that I have seen that firsthand and that is why I believe he would be a huge benefit to the people of Catawba County as a member of the school board.
